President Donald Trump will hold rallies for Senate midterm candidates in Kansas and Iowa on Sunday, November 1, after previously canceling planned visits days before the midterm election, USA Today reported October 30.

Trump had abruptly canceled on Thursday, October 29, weekend rallies in Kansas for Sen. Roger Marshall and in Iowa for Rep. Ashley Hinson; the Salina, Kansas, rally was moved from Saturday, October 31, to Sunday, while the Dubuque, Iowa, rally remains November 1.

Trump told reporters in the Oval Office on Friday that he received calls from Republicans in both states asking him to come, and a source said the dates were rearranged to accommodate dozens of tele-rallies Trump is planning in the final days.

Polling cited in the report shows a tight picture: a Washington Post poll found Democratic nominee Adam Hamilton ahead of Marshall 52%–43% in Kansas, while in Iowa Hinson narrowly leads Democrat Josh Turek by less than one percentage point in a RealClearPolitics average.

The rallies cap a frantic final weekend for both parties, with early voting already at record midterm levels.
