ALIBABA'S QWEN ENTERS APPLE INTELLIGENCE IN CHINA — BETA STARTS NOVEMBER 4
Alibaba announced that its Qwen model will be integrated into Apple Intelligence for China, with testing starting in the iOS developer beta on November 4 and a public release planned for December.

Alibaba announced that its Qwen model will be integrated into Apple Intelligence for China, according to an AI news briefing on November 1.
Testing starts in the iOS developer beta on November 4, with an iOS 27.3 public release planned for December, the company said.
The integration covers Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence — the core Apple Intelligence features — giving Apple a local AI partner for the Chinese market, where its own models face regulatory constraints.
The move is one of the most concrete examples yet of how the AI race is splitting along national lines: the same iPhone will run different AI brains depending on which country it is sold in.
In the same interview cycle, Apple chief executive John Ternus argued against AI for its own sake, telling TechCrunch the company does not want to ship AI features simply because it can.
