Motorola is gearing up to launch its next premium smartphone, the Signature 27, and days before the launch, several details about the device have surfaced. The phone was first introduced at the Snapdragon Summit, where Motorola confirmed it would use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, and a hands-on video shared by tech creator Danny Winget now offers a closer look at its design and hardware.

The phone will be available in two colour options, Cool Smoke and Pantone Capulet Olive, with different finishes on the rear panel: a tactical weave finish on Cool Smoke and a feather-inspired texture on the Olive variant. It is Motorola's second device in its premium Signature lineup and its first conventional flagship in the series, rather than a foldable.

The phone is expected to feature a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED Duo display with a 120Hz refresh rate, LTPO technology, and a Tandem OLED design that stacks multiple OLED layers to improve brightness and efficiency. The display is said to reach a peak brightness of 12,000 nits, which should make the screen easier to view outdoors, though peak figures do not always reflect everyday brightness across the whole screen.

Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip, built on a 2nm process, is expected to be paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. It will run Android 17 out of the box, with Motorola promising seven years of OS upgrades, and thermal management is said to include a vapour chamber 40% larger than before, along with liquid metal and copper mesh.

On cameras, the smartphone is expected to feature a 50MP Sony Lytia 910 primary camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera, plus a dedicated action sensor for moving subjects and an AI-powered Video Enhancement Engine that adjusts colour tones in real time while recording. Motorola has confirmed the Signature 27 will launch globally on November 5, with an India launch this month, though exact date and pricing details are not available yet.
