KANSAS SHOCKER: DEMOCRAT LEADS A REPUBLICAN SENATOR IN POLL AFTER POLL

A Washington Post-Schar School poll shows Democrat Adam Hamilton leading Republican Senator Roger Marshall 52% to 43% in Kansas, with an Emerson College survey showing a tighter 50% to 47% — a race that would have been unthinkable a cycle ago.

Kansas has become one of the shock races of the 2026 midterms, with polls showing Democrat Adam Hamilton ahead of Republican Senator Roger Marshall days before Election Day.

A Washington Post-Schar School poll shows Hamilton leading Marshall 52% to 43%. An Emerson College survey indicates a tighter race, at 50% to 47% — still a Hamilton lead.

President Donald Trump is campaigning in Kansas on Sunday, part of a final push that also takes him to Iowa, as Republicans try to defend a Senate seat in a state they have long taken for granted.

Some Republican strategists have questioned the nine-point margin in the Washington Post-Schar School poll, but even the tighter Emerson numbers put the incumbent behind.

If Hamilton wins, it would be the first time Kansas has sent a Democrat to the Senate since 1932, according to election forecasters — a result that would all but seal a Democratic Senate majority.
