Doncic Drops 42 as Lakers Rout Heat 138-117
It was Doncic's fourth 40-point game this season and came one night after a 45-point game against Toronto, lifting the Lakers to 6-2.

Luka Doncic scored 42 points with 13 assists and 7 rebounds, shooting 14-for-24 with six 3-pointers, to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 138-117 home win over the Miami Heat on Monday night.
It was Doncic's fourth 40-point game this season and came one night after a 45-point game against Toronto, lifting the Lakers to 6-2. Back-to-back 40-point nights are rare even for the league's elite scorers, and Doncic made them look routine.
Giannis Antetokounmpo recorded 30 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for Miami, whose two-game winning streak was halted. The Heat kept pace early, but the Lakers pulled away behind Doncic's playmaking and a barrage of transition baskets.
The Lakers' fast start has been built on Doncic's brilliance and a supporting cast that has found its roles early. At 6-2, Los Angeles sits near the top of the West and looks like a team built for a deep playoff run.
Miami, meanwhile, will regroup during the league's Election Day break. The Heat's challenge remains familiar: finding enough offense around Antetokounmpo to beat the West's best on their own floor.
