D'Andre Swift rushed for three second-half touchdowns as the Chicago Bears defeated the host Seattle Seahawks 34-17 on Monday night. Caleb Williams was 24-of-34 passing for 247 yards and a touchdown as the Bears (6-2) won their third in a row since Williams returned from a hamstring injury.

Seattle's Sam Darnold completed 17 of 34 passes for 188 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, his ninth of the season, and was sacked three times. Chicago never trailed, building a lead that Seattle could not dent despite a late push.

Newly acquired Jeffery Simmons had six tackles and a sack in his Bears debut, an immediate impact from the trade-deadline addition. The Bears also blocked a 33-yard Jason Myers field goal in the fourth quarter, capping a dominant defensive night.

The win leaves Chicago 6-2 for the first time since 2012 and, with wins over both of last season's Super Bowl participants, looking like a genuine contender. Seattle, the defending champions, fell to 4-4 and continued a confounding season of inconsistency.

As the calendar flips to Week 9 and the season nears its midpoint, Chicago's combination of a healthy Williams, a punishing run game and a disruptive defense has the Bears talking about January. Seattle, meanwhile, must regroup quickly to stay in the NFC playoff race.
