Canva Cuts 22 Percent of Its Workforce as Growth Slows for the First Time in a Decade
Some 1,271 people will be affected by job losses, role changes or relocations, CEO Melanie Perkins said, calling it the hardest moment in the company's thirteen-year history.

Canva announced on November 3-4 that 1,271 people, about 22 percent of its workforce, will be affected by job losses, role changes or relocations, TechCrunch reported.
Chief Executive Melanie Perkins called it "without doubt the hardest moment in our thirteen-year history" and said growth had slowed for the first time in a decade.
Canva is merging its Product, Growth and Platform teams into a single Product organisation. Sydney becomes the main base for more product teams, and from January, most hybrid staff are expected in the office two to three days a week.
Departing staff get at least six months' salary, 12 months' healthcare where provided, plus $10,000 grants from a new Canva Collective Fund for departing employees starting a business or community project.
The 1,271 figure mixes departures, role changes and relocations, and Canva has not said how many jobs are eliminated outright, so the headline number should not be read as a pure layoff count.
