MORE THAN 150 AFGHANS FACE DEPORTATION IN ONE OF THE LARGEST SINGLE EXPULSIONS
The Trump administration plans to deport more than 150 Afghan immigrants, with dozens already detained in Louisiana and a first flight expected as soon as Monday, Reuters reported Friday.

The Trump administration plans to deport some Afghan immigrants to Afghanistan, a U.S. official and a coalition of veterans and advocacy groups said on Friday.
More than 150 Afghan immigrants are expected to be deported, the New York Times reported, in one of the largest single expulsions of Afghans, with dozens detained in Louisiana and a first flight expected as soon as Monday.
Deportations would be routed via Pakistan, because Washington cannot directly arrange deportations to Afghanistan as it lacks diplomatic ties with the Taliban.
Many of those facing removal fled Afghanistan after the 2021 Taliban takeover and the U.S. withdrawal.
Shawn VanDiver, head of #AfghanEvac, urged Congress to pass legislation granting Afghans temporary protected status, warning that deportees could face danger on return.
