Ukraine Allies Meet in Brussels as Abu Dhabi Peace Talks Are Set for Next Week
Ukraine, the U.S., France, Germany, the U.K., the EU and NATO meet Wednesday on security guarantees and reconstruction, ahead of U.S.-mediated trilateral talks with Russia on November 10-11.

Ukraine and its Western allies are meeting in Brussels on Wednesday to discuss security guarantees, reconstruction and long-term development, days before a new round of U.S.-mediated talks with Russia.
Representatives from Ukraine, the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union and NATO are taking part, European Commission spokesperson Paula Pinho confirmed. The Brussels discussions build on earlier negotiations between Kyiv and Washington held in Miami.
The United States will then mediate working-level negotiations between Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi on November 10-11, U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff announced. Discussions will focus on post-war security arrangements, de-escalation, humanitarian measures and next steps toward ending the war.
Witkoff and Jared Kushner are expected to serve as the lead U.S. negotiators in Abu Dhabi, a senior U.S. official told Reuters. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said mutual security commitments would be central, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he expected the trilateral format to resume on the scheduled dates.
The diplomacy comes as Russia keeps striking Ukraine's energy system: on Wednesday, Russia said it had struck power stations in the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions, Reuters reported, days after a brief humanitarian truce in the Russian-controlled town of Oleshky. Kyiv has listed halting strikes on energy facilities and critical infrastructure among its priorities, alongside Black Sea grain shipments and expanded prisoner exchanges.
