Signs Ur Ho Going This Halloween
Halloween is breakup season. Before the costumes come out, the signs show up first — distance, resources, attire, and the arguing that comes right before the breakup. Here's how you know the breakup is coming before the party even starts.

Every year it happens the same way. October hits, Halloween plans start forming, and suddenly somebody's getting dumped. It's not a coincidence — Halloween is breakup season. Before cuffing season locks everybody down for winter, there's one last night of freedom, and a lot of people want to walk into it single. TikTok creator @saltysargent broke down the three signs that she's already gone — and right before Halloween, they show up louder than ever.
First: distance. She's not around like she used to be. Texts get shorter, replies get slower, and suddenly she's busy every time you want to link. It's not a fight. It's worse than a fight — it's quiet. She's not arguing with you because she's already made up her mind. The breakup conversation is already written in her head; she's just waiting for the right week to say it. Halloween week is that week.
Second: resources. She stops needing you for anything. Not the ride, not the money, not the plan. She's stacking her own — her own bag, her own ride, her own moves — because somebody who's staying builds a life with you, and somebody who's leaving builds a life without you. Quietly, weeks before the breakup, so that when it finally comes, she's already gone.
Third: attire. The outfits change. She's dressing up way more than usual, putting real effort into looks nobody at home ever sees. A girl who's comfortable doesn't dress to impress strangers. A girl who's about to be single does — because she's already picturing herself at the party, in the costume, without you.
And then there's the arguing. Before the breakup, everything becomes a fight. Stuff that never bothered her suddenly does. She's short with you, she's picking at little things, she's turning nothing into something. That's not her losing her temper — that's her building a case. If she's arguing with you every day in the last week of October, she's not trying to fix it. She's trying to find the one fight big enough to walk out on.
That's why the breakup always lands right before Halloween. The costume is already bought. The group chat is already planning. The “girls night” is already on the calendar. She can't enjoy Halloween single if she's still with you on the 30th — so the breakup comes first, clean and early, usually with some line about “needing space” or “focusing on herself.” Space. Right before the biggest party night of the year. Sure.
So if the texts are drying up, every little thing is turning into an argument, she's suddenly got her own money and her own plans, and she's putting together a costume nobody at home will ever see — don't wait for the breakup text. It's already coming. Halloween doesn't cause the breakup. It just sets the deadline.
